About CRANC

Who are we?

Our purpose at CRANC is to promote health in rural and remote communities, to promote Health careers to high school students in both rural and remote areas, and to promote and support Health students at The University of Canberra to explore both rural and remote settings as a viable career option.

As an NRHSN health club we receive funding each year to support our activities. These activities include: social events, rural high school visits (RHSV), running education seminars/workshops, having the ability to send a limited amount of students to attend conferences, and supporting students to go on rural and remote clinical placements through networks and having scholarships available to make it financially viable for students.

The NRHSN also hold various events and festivals over the year, which include their biannual conference to which they invite (and fully fund) a delegation of students from each health club to attend.

Why Join?

Aside from the opportunities of having a network of people to speak to about rural and remote health, we are offering six annual scholarships of up to $500 each for our members to spend towards the cost of rural and remote placements

In addition you'll also have the opportunity to meet a great group of people not just from your own discipline, but also from a range of professions and backgrounds.

All these opportunities are for only $5 per year!

CRANC is the Canberra Rural Allied Health & Nursing Collective. We are one of 29 university-based health clubs, who are supported by the National Rural Health Students Network (NRHSN), who have over 9,000  members. The NRHSN are funded by the Australian Government Department of Health & Ageing.

We are a group of students which are passionate about rural and remote health that are willing to help other health students experience rural and remote Australia and see its benefits.
